This illustration depicts normal hip joint anatomy of an 11-13 year old child along with the histology of the growth plate, or physis. It contrasts the normal with the pathology of slipped capital femoral epiphysis as well as the histological appearance of the growth plate. Created to accompany a research article for an orthopedic surgeon at DDEAMC.
